Social Analyst (Organic and Paid)


The role of a Social Analyst is exciting, varied and constantly evolving. Analysts at Byte help ensure that our insights and reporting are fuelling our clients’ strategies. Analysts work with both organic and paid data and will often be required to carry out audits. This person will have access to social listening tools and tools like Global Web Index to help validate strategies.

The analyst will sit in the Media team and will work across new and existing clients at Byte. 


  • Analyse data for paid social campaigns and report back on performance and recommendations
  • Report on organic social campaigns and work with internal teams to implement actions based on findings
  • Build dashboards (e.g. Google Data Studio) in order to visualize data for our clients
  • Analyse multiple third party data sources in order to show the full picture e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe
  • Research and assess technology solutions and processes to improve our capabilities
  • Carry out research, social listening and insights tasks on platforms such as Brandwatch and GWI
  • Develop a solid understanding of paid media planning and buying across a range of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat & Pinterest
  • Plan, set up and manage paid social campaigns, and deliver plans to the highest standard
  • Ensure delivery of work is to the highest possible standard
  • Contribute insights and strategic thinking to all areas of the business (creative, tech, media, data)
  • Complete work to deadline and often under pressure


To be considered for this role, you will need the skills or experience outlined below.


  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable interpreting large data sets with a numeric mindset
  • Passion for social media industry and platform trends
  • A way with storytelling, using data and visuals to deliver actionable insights
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in the use of Excel + familiarity with Google Slides
  • Above average written and verbal English communication skills
  • Advanced internet research and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to react quickly within a fast-paced environment
  • A love for learning new things

Nice to have (Not essential):

  • Familiarity with Facebook/Instagram Ads platform and Twitter Ads platform
  • Degree in a relevant subject (mathematics and sciences, statistics, advertising, media)
  • Internship or work experience with an insight, media, analytics or research role
  • Familiarity with data visualization techniques
  • Experience with coding/SQL
