
JOB PURPOSE
We don’t believe in siloed teams – content, technology, media and data overlap in all roles at Byte. We need someone to deliver smart paid and owned channel planning and execution across several clients. This person will develop media strategies and deliver those strategies day to day. They will use data and insight in all aspects of the role, ensuring we deliver the most effective campaigns – we want someone who gets data and media.
Marketing and technology is converging at a rapid rate. Technology can now deliver the marketing promise of personalized communications at scale. However, technology is useless without ideas that capture consumers’ imaginations. We need someone who understands our client’s customers, who can put themselves in their shoes to create strategies and ideas that exceed expectations, who understands that brands are competing for consumers’ attention and have at best a couple of seconds to inspire some sort of interaction. We need people who can come up with big ideas as well as lots of little ones that are framed in a solid strategy grounded in insight.
The role of a Junior Media Analyst is exciting, varied and constantly evolving. We need someone that can help generate the insight necessary to create remarkable solutions for our organic and paid social campaigns. This person needs to understand the effectiveness of various approaches, and help deliver solutions through the right data and technology. This role is also a critical part of our new business activity and analysts are frequently invited to work with pitch teams and present insights to clients.
In this role, you will:
• Analyze data for paid social campaigns and report back on performance and recommendations
• Report on organic social campaigns and work with internal teams to implement actions based on findings
• Build dashboards (e.g. Google Data Studio) in order to visualize data for our clients
• Analyze multiple third party data sources in order to show the full picture e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe
• Research and assess technology solutions and processes to improve our capabilities
• Carry out research, social listening and insights tasks on platforms such as Brandwatch and GWI
• Develop a solid understanding of paid media planning and buying across a range of platforms including
Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat & Pinterest
• Plan, set up and manage paid social campaigns, and deliver plans to the highest standard
• Ensure delivery of work is to the highest possible standard
• Contribute insights and strategic thinking to all areas of the business (creative, tech, media, data)
• Complete work to deadline and often under pressure
SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for this role, you will need the skills or experience outlined below.
Essential:
• Strong analytical skills, comfortable interpreting large data sets with a numeric mindset
• Passion for social media industry and platform trends
• A way with storytelling, using data and visuals to deliver actionable insights
• Intermediate or higher proficiency in the use of Excel + familiarity with Google Slides
• Above average written and verbal English communication skills
• Advanced internet research and problem solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to react quickly within a fast-paced environment
• A love for learning new things
Nice to have (Not essential):
• Degree in a relevant subject (mathematics and sciences, statistics, advertising, media)
• Internship or work experience with an insight, media, analytics or research role
• Familiarity with data visualization techniques
• Familiarity with Facebook/Instagram Ads platform and Twitter Ads platform
• Experience with coding/SQL
