We are looking for someone to lead certain clients within our paid social media offering, while making sure it is collaborative and closely integrated with creative content, technology and data. This person will provide visionary leadership around paid social media planning and execution, supporting our junior media staff with strategic guidance, personal development and training. They will innovate our paid social media offering and help us do outstanding work that delivers true ROI for our clients.


The role of Lead Media Planner is exciting, varied and constantly evolving. In this role, you will:

  • Report directly to the Senior Lead Media Planner, with oversight from the Media Director
  • You will plan, deploy and lead the optimization of social media marketing campaigns across key client accounts on core social platforms Facebook/IG, TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter and others
  • Identify growth opportunities and provide strategic thought leadership to clients as it relates to paid social media
  • Understand how to plan, forecast, and measure social media KPIs that track back to client goals
  • Mentor others on the media team on strategy development, campaign planning and execution
  • Provide support and guidance to the social media planners and media executives to deliver the highest quality work to our clients, ensuring campaign set up and reporting is held to a standard of excellence with the proper QA processes in place
  • Work on key client accounts in the retail, news, fashion, CPG and other verticals (averaging ~$100K - $1MM+ in monthly budgets)
  • Understand, optimize and report on performance metrics (i.e. CTR, CPA, CVR, ROAS)
  • Play an integral role in the social media strategy, planning, campaign builds, execution, optimization and reporting aspects for our campaigns on Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and other platforms
  • Provide media research and rationale, audience segmentation and targeting strategies, key insights, areas of improvement and opportunities for growth to high visibility accounts
  • Innovate our offering, making sure we’re taking advantage of the latest tech and most advanced approaches, as well as expanding into new platforms and ad formats
  • Speak to clients and be able to support/sell through media plans with confidence
  • Be able to address all areas of the funnel -- awareness, consideration and conversion -- and craft appropriate media plans in accordance with client goals and KPIs
  • Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly media plans and deliver against client goals as needed
  • Craft a story from the data looking at different attribution models and speaking to the role social media plays in the customer journey
  • Help to on-board new clients and build, optimize and report on paid social campaigns
  • Participate in new business RFPs and pitches as asked



  • 3-5 Years’ experience within a relevant paid social media marketing role
  • Experience in performance marketing, tracking and optimizing campaigns towards client goals
  • Ability to build media plans and forecast to client goals, while understanding the soft metrics
  • Advanced skills buying ads on Facebook and Instagram is crucial, additional platforms preferred
  • Hands on experience with TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn & Twitter – or at least 2 of these
  • Good understanding of media possibilities on all core social platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically in Media Plan presentations
  • Diverse account background including some direct response and awareness
  • Comprehensive understanding of measurement and attribution of digital activity
  • Comfortable working with data in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Comfortable building presentations in Powerpoint or Google Slides
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex subjects simply
  • Ability to work with senior clients on key strategy projects
  • Efficient and focused under pressure and comfortable working under tight deadlines
  • Proven leadership skills and management experience preferred (managed 2+ people)
  • Ability to work autonomously and seek out solutions with limited supervision
