JOB DESCRIPTION: IT Systems Administrator


The IT Systems Administrator will play a pivotal part in creating an effective workspace for Byte London and Berlin employees from an IT perspective. In this role you will be our technical expert, go-to-person and responsible for all IT related queries - including our Google workspace apps, Dropbox, many Saas applications and a wifi network. The IT Systems Administrator will also be responsible for the maintenance of the hardware stock and inventory including around 150 Macs (and a couple of Window users) that are currently being used.

You will actively participate in the IT support processes, have daily interaction with Byte cadets and will take part in finding solutions to technical problems.


The role of IT / Systems Administrator is exciting, varied and constantly evolving. In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

IT Support (London & Berlin)

  • Provide tier 1-2 user/desktop support
  • License provisioning (local tools)
  • Coordinate the IT on-boarding and off-boarding actions for starters and leavers
  • Provide best practice user/administrative guidance across all shared tools
  • Being an escalation point for all IT issues
  • Order/take receipt of IT equipment
  • Make sure all equipment and computers are fit and ready for use
  • Address Apple hardware related issues and arrange repairs as required
  • Maintain an asset inventory
  • Ensure all devices are encrypted/set up screen sharing sessions as needed
  • Due diligence and acquisition of local tools
  • Ownership of 3rd party tool agreements/renewals

InfoSec Support (London, Berlin & New York)

  • Log and follow up on security incidents
  • Support with the quarterly information security assessments
  • Assist with the completion of clients’ IT security questionnaires
  • Setup employee security training courses and track attendance/completions
  • Comply with the activities relating to ISO27001 standards



  • Being service-oriented and always wanting to help
  • Exposure with information security practices/certification
  • Provided IT support for enterprises
  • Experience with and knowledge of mainly Mac OS but also Windows
  • Have experience with Google Workspace, Dropbox, and widely used Web services
  • Have basic knowledge of IT hardware/software and networking
  • Have knowledge of the basic concepts of licensing, security and organisation
  • Passionate for an organised and well-oiled workplace
  • Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail

  • Great interpersonal skills
